What weeding means
Weeding is peeling away the vinyl you do not want after a plotter cuts the design, leaving only the letters and shapes on the backing paper ready for transfer tape.
Also called weeding vinyl, picking.
Where it matters on a sign job
Small text, thin script fonts and detailed logos take far longer to weed than block letters of the same size. Price cut vinyl by how fiddly the design is as well as by the square foot, or detailed jobs will eat your margin.
