What calendered vinyl means
Calendered vinyl is made by squeezing heated vinyl between rollers into a sheet. The process leaves tension in the film, so it is thicker, cheaper and tends to shrink back over time.
Also called calendared vinyl, intermediate vinyl.
Where it matters on a sign job
It works well on flat surfaces and for signs that only need to last a few seasons: window lettering, temporary banners and real estate panels. On curves or rivets it lifts and shrinks, which is a callback waiting to happen, so keep it on flat work.
