What exhaust fan hinge kit means
An exhaust fan hinge kit lets a rooftop upblast fan tilt open on a hinge so the fan and duct below can be cleaned without unbolting it.
Also called fan hinge, upblast fan.
Where it matters on a hood cleaning job
Fans without hinges are hard and risky to clean, and the duct under them often gets missed. A hinge kit is a common recommendation after the first visit, written into the service report.
