First-time fix rate is the share of service calls finished on the first visit, without a return trip for parts or a second tech.
Also called first call resolution.
Where it matters on a appliance repair job
Every return trip is unpaid drive time. Asking good questions at booking, stocking common parts on the truck and keeping notes on each customer's equipment all push the rate up.
