What layer height means
Layer height is how thick each printed layer is. Thinner layers give smoother curves and less visible stepping but mean many more layers to print.
Also called layer thickness, layer resolution.
Where it matters on a 3D printing job
Every layer is another pass of the nozzle or the light, so thinner layers stretch the print time on the same part and are one of the biggest levers on price. Offer a draft and a fine option on quotes for display pieces, and keep functional parts at a coarser, faster setting.
