What drives the price
- Cabinets. HomeAdvisor says cabinets are nearly 30% of the budget. Refacing or refinishing instead of replacing saves the most.
- Layout. Moving the sink, range or walls means plumbing, gas and electrical work.
- Countertops. Laminate is the budget pick. Quartz and granite are the common upgrades.
- Appliances. A pro-style range or built-in refrigerator can cost as much as the cabinets.
- Size. Bigger kitchens need more of everything.
