A pest control price is mostly route time and product, with licensing and insurance behind every visit. The initial treatment takes longer and uses more product. The recurring visits are quick if your route is tight. Price each from your own numbers and the plan sells itself.
- Price the initial service and the recurring visit separately. The first one carries the setup.
- Fixr lists a one-time pest control service at $158 to $288, average $223.
- Its frequency table gives quarterly visits at $98 to $178 and monthly at $31 to $56.
- Regular treatments run $471 to $867 a year in Fixr's guide, before termites, bed bugs or wildlife.
Setting your labor rate
Start with the wage. The closest group the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics publishes is pest control workers. In its May 2025 wage survey, that group's national mean wage was $22.31 an hour and the median was $21.75 (BLS OEWS 37-2021).
Add your labor burden on top: payroll taxes, workers' comp and any paid time off. If burden in your state comes to 22% of wages, a $22 an hour tech costs you $26.84 an hour. That loaded number is what goes into the job cost.
Published pest control prices
| Service | Published price | Source |
|---|---|---|
| One-time service | $158 to $288, average $223 | Fixr |
| Monthly visit | $31 to $56 | Fixr |
| Quarterly visit | $98 to $178 | Fixr |
| Yearly | $471 to $867 | Fixr |
| Termite fumigation or bed bug heat treatment | About $3,500 | Fixr |
These are consumer averages. License requirements, product costs and the pests in your area move your numbers.
A worked example: a quarterly plan
Every input is an assumption for the example.
- Recurring visit: 35 minutes on site plus 15 minutes of route time = 50 minutes
- Loaded labor: 50 / 60 x $26.84 = $22.37
- Product per visit: $14
- Vehicle cost on a tight route: 8 miles x $0.76 = $6.08
- Direct cost per visit: $22.37 + $14 + $6.08 = $42.45
- Overhead plus profit: 35% + 15% = 50% of the price
- Price per quarterly visit: $42.45 / 0.50 = $85
- Yearly plan: 4 x $85 = $340
Quarterly at $85 is below Fixr's $98 to $178 quarterly range. A dense route with short stops can get your cost that low, but check that the price still covers callbacks between visits. Price the initial service higher, since it takes longer and uses more product. A route spread across three zip codes would need more per visit.
Sell the plan, not the spray
Customers buy a pest-free house, not a treatment. On Front Office, Koira sells maintenance plans on your site and on every invoice, bills the plan on the card on file, books each visit when it is due and reminds the customer the day before. The free maintenance plan pricing calculator sets a monthly price from your own visit cost.
Tight routes are the margin
Today puts each day's stops in driving order, and new bookings slot in where the drive makes sense. Neighbor postcards go to homes around the ones you already treat, which is how a route gets denser.
Common pest control pricing mistakes
- Initial and recurring at the same price. The first visit is longer. Price it so.
- Plans billed by hand. Late and missed billing quietly eats the margin.
- No add-on prices. Mosquito, rodent and termite work should be on your list before the customer asks.
