What septic tank means
A septic tank is a buried watertight tank that holds household wastewater long enough for solids to settle as sludge and grease to float as scum, before the liquid flows to the drainfield.
Where it matters on a septic job
Pumping is the recurring job, and the pumping record is what home buyers and inspectors ask for. Send reminders on a schedule and keep notes on lid locations, since digging for lids is unpaid time.
