What pool pH means
pH measures how acidic or basic pool water is. It affects how well chlorine works, how comfortable the water is and whether the water scales or eats at surfaces.
Where it matters on a pool service job
Adjusting pH and alkalinity is weekly route work. Note the chemicals added on each visit, so the customer sees what they are paying for and the next tech knows the history.
What it costs
Jobs that involve pool pH are priced in the pool maintenance cost guide: about $270 typical, usually $120 to $1,050. The guide shows its sources and what moves the price.
