What plywood means
Plywood is a panel made of thin wood veneers glued with the grain of each layer crossed, which makes it strong and stable in both directions.
Where it matters on a carpentry job
Plywood holds fasteners and handles moisture better than OSB in many uses, and costs more. Name the grade and thickness in your estimate, since a cheaper grade can be swapped without anyone noticing.
