Koira, Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy, Jobber and Housecall Pro, checked against what a contractor site has to do, with real prices from each company's own page.

Every website builder says it is the easy one. For a contractor, easy is not the test. The test is whether a stranger on a phone, standing in a flooded kitchen or looking at a peeling deck, can see who you are, trust you and reach you in under a minute.

This guide compares six ways a contractor can get a website: three general builders (Wix, Squarespace and GoDaddy), the websites that come with two field service apps (Jobber and Housecall Pro), and the Koira contractor website. It does not repeat the full list of what goes on the site. For that, read seven things every contractor website needs. This page is about choosing the tool.

Key takeaways
  • General builders (Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy) cost from $9.99 to $49.99 a month on the plans in this guide and give you full design control, but you build and keep up every page yourself.
  • Jobber includes a website with every plan, from $29 a month billed yearly. Housecall Pro builds one for you as a separate add-on with no published price.
  • Koira builds the site from your business for free on a Koira address, with Get a price, Book online, your reviews and a page for every town already on it. Your own domain comes with Grow.
  • Pick by who will do the work after launch. A site nobody updates stops booking jobs.

What a contractor site has to do

A contractor site is not a brochure. It has one job, which is turning a visitor into a call, a request or a booked visit. These are the things to check on any builder before you pay for it.

  • Tap to call. Your number at the top of every page, as a link a phone can dial. Most of your visitors are on a phone.
  • A quote or request form. Some people will never call. Give them a way to ask for a price or a visit, and ideally a starting price on the spot.
  • Service area pages. A page for each town you work and each service you offer. This is how you show up two towns over, not only in your own.
  • Reviews. Your real Google reviews, with the stars and the count, where a visitor sees them without hunting.
  • Speed on a phone. A slow page on a weak signal loses the visitor before your number even loads.
  • A match with your Google Business Profile. Same name, phone, hours and site link as your listing, so Google and your customers see one business, not two.

You can test your current site against this list in about a minute with the free website grader for contractors. It checks search basics, speed on a phone, tap to call, quote forms and the match with your Google profile, then lists the fixes in order. To check the listing side on its own, use the Google Business Profile checker.

Three kinds of website builder

The six options on this page fall into three groups, and the group matters more than the brand.

General builders: Wix, Squarespace and GoDaddy. These serve every kind of business, from bakeries to law firms. They give you templates or an AI draft and a full editor. You decide the layout, write the pages and add the buttons. That freedom is the point, and it is also the work. They know nothing about your jobs, your prices or your service area unless you type it in.

Websites inside field service software: Jobber and Housecall Pro. These come from apps you would use to schedule jobs, send quotes and get paid. The website is connected to that app, so a request from the site lands in the same place as the rest of your work. Jobber drafts the pages from your services and lets you personalize them. Housecall Pro's team builds the site for you and sends a first draft within a few weeks.

Koira. Koira builds the site from your business name and what is already public about you, then keeps it current. The layout is decided for you on purpose: call, price, reviews and Book online sit where people look first. You change your logo, colors, photos, services, prices and towns, not the structure. The site is part of the same app that sends your estimates and invoices.

The checklist, builder by builder

This table shows how each option handles the checklist, from each company's own pages. Where one option has something another does not, the cell says why rather than just marking it missing.

From each company's own plan and website pages, checked October 10, 2026. Plan names show where a feature first appears on that company's public page. Features change often, so ask each company to show you on a real site.

Speed is left out of that table on purpose. Every company says its sites are fast and mobile friendly, and the honest way to check is to test a real site built on it. Run a few through the website grader before you decide.

What each one costs

Here are the published prices for the plans a contractor would actually use, with the same columns for everyone. Read the last two columns as carefully as the first. People, credits and card fees are where a cheap plan can stop being cheap.

Prices per month in US dollars, from each company's own pages (Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy, Jobber, Housecall Pro), checked October 10, 2026. Wix shows yearly prices only. GoDaddy says its annual plans carry an extra first-year discount, so check the renewal price. Higher plans exist: Wix Business Elite ($159 a month yearly), Squarespace Plus ($65 monthly, $49 yearly) and Advanced ($139 monthly, $99 yearly), GoDaddy Ultimate ($199.99 monthly, $99.99 yearly), and Jobber Connect, Grow and Plus. They add store, team and automation tools that a website alone rarely needs. Koira's card rate is Stripe's 2.9% + 30¢ for a US card plus Koira's share, from Koira pricing.

Why the prices are so far apart

The table mixes three kinds of product, so the numbers are not measuring the same thing.

  • Wix, Squarespace and GoDaddy are website only. Their price buys a site and the tools to build it. Estimates, invoices, scheduling and follow-ups come from somewhere else, at their own price.
  • Jobber and Housecall Pro are job software first. Jobber includes its website with every plan at no extra cost, so its $29 to $49 a month buys the site and the job tools together. Housecall Pro sells its website as a separate add-on and does not publish the price, so ask for it before you compare.
  • Koira is the site plus the office. Office costs nothing a month. It is paid for by a 2% share of card payments, so a month with no card payments costs nothing. It includes the site on a Koira address, instant quotes, review asks, Google and Bing listings, estimates, invoices and your day plan. Grow at $249 a month is not a website price. It adds the AI receptionist, text-back, campaigns and QuickBooks, and your own domain comes with it.
Where a general builder winsIf all you want is a simple site on your own domain this month and you are happy to build and update it yourself, a general builder is the cheapest way there. GoDaddy Starter is $9.99 a month billed yearly and Wix Light is $17. Koira's free plan runs on a Koira address, and your own domain comes with Grow.

Where Koira fits

Koira was built for the contractor who does not want to become a web designer. Here is what that looks like against the checklist.

Built from your business. Type your business name and Koira builds the site from your trade, your towns, your price list and what is already public about you. You answer a few questions by text and correct anything it got wrong. Your current site keeps running until you point your domain at the new one.

Get a price and Book online on every page. A visitor gets a starting price from your own list, day or night. Koira can measure a roof, a lawn or a driveway from above for that first number. When the price works, they book a time that lands on your day. Koira never invents a price. See instant quotes.

A page for every town. Koira writes a page for each town you work and each service you offer, which is the part of contractor SEO most owners never get to. Read SEO for contractors for why those pages matter.

Reviews that keep coming. An hour after an invoice is paid, Koira texts the customer the ask with your Google link. New reviews appear on your site on their own. See the reviews engine.

Listings that match. Your hours, phone, website and address live in Koira next to your site. Koira checks your Google and Bing listings against the site and shows you the exact values to change where it cannot update them yet. See Google Business Profile and Bing sync.

Never stale. Each month a finished job goes up as a post from your own photos, so the site keeps giving search engines something new to read.

What Koira does not doIt does not give you a blank canvas. You cannot drag sections around or pick from thousands of templates. If design control is what you want most, Wix, Squarespace or GoDaddy will suit you better.

How to choose

Ask one question first: who will keep this site working a year from now? The answer usually picks the builder for you.

  • If you enjoy design and will update the site yourself, a general builder gives you the most control for the least money. Budget the evenings it takes.
  • If you already run your jobs in Jobber, its included website is the obvious first try, since requests land where your work already is.
  • If you use Housecall Pro and want someone else to build the site, ask for the Websites add-on price and how many pages you get.
  • If you want the site built, priced, reviewed and kept fresh without touching it, start on Koira's free Office plan and see what it builds from your business.

Whatever you pick, test it on your own phone before you call it done. Tap the number, fill in the form, and search your trade and town on Google. If any of those fails, the site is not finished.
