Housecall Pro is one of the best known job management apps for home service businesses. Its pricing page is clearer than most in this category: three plans, a monthly price and a yearly price for each, and the number of users included. This page walks through each plan as their public page describes it, works out what a one, two or three person shop would pay, and shows how that lines up against Koira. Every Housecall Pro figure here comes from housecallpro.com/pricing, checked October 8, 2026. Prices change, so check their page before you sign up.
- Housecall Pro has three plans: Basic at $79 a month, Essentials at $189 and MAX at $329, or $59, $149 and $299 a month billed yearly (checked October 8, 2026).
- The plans are split by users: 1 on Basic, 5 on Essentials, 8 on MAX, then $35 a month for each extra user on MAX.
- Add-ons such as CSR AI, Voice, Websites and Campaigns are listed on the pricing page without a price, so you have to ask.
- A solo owner pays $708 to $948 a year for Basic before add-ons and card fees. A two or three person shop is pointed to Essentials.
- Koira starts free and adds the phone answering on Grow at $249 a month plus usage, with no per-person fee.
The three Housecall Pro plans at a glance
Housecall Pro sells three plans. Each one has a regular monthly price and a lower monthly price when you pay for the year up front.
| Plan | Monthly | Billed yearly | Users |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $79/mo | $59/mo | 1 |
| Essentials | $189/mo | $149/mo | 5 |
| MAX | $329/mo | $299/mo | 8, then $35/mo each |
Source: housecallpro.com/pricing, checked October 8, 2026. The page says there are no long-term contracts, that you can upgrade at any time, and that a downgrade takes effect at the end of the billing period. The free trial is 14 days of the MAX plan with no credit card needed. The page also showed a short introductory discount for new sign-ups when we checked; the prices above are the regular ones, and all prices are in US dollars before sales tax.
Basic: $79 a month, one user
Basic is the entry plan. At $79 a month, or $59 a month billed yearly, it includes one user. The pricing page lists these features on Basic: online booking, invoices and payments, scheduling and dispatch, estimates and invoicing, payments and consumer financing, a price book, job costing and review management.
For an owner who works alone, that covers the core of the office: book the job, quote it, do it, bill it, get paid. What Basic does not list is routes, flat-rate pricing, checklist automations, photo reports, GPS tracking, commissions or QuickBooks Online sync. Those start on Essentials.
Essentials: $189 a month, five users
Essentials is $189 a month, or $149 a month billed yearly, and includes five users. It has everything in Basic, plus routes, flat-rate pricing, checklist automations, photo reports and annotations, employee GPS tracking, commissions and QuickBooks Online sync.
This is the plan Housecall Pro points small crews to. If you keep your books in QuickBooks Online and want the sync, Essentials is the first plan that lists it.
MAX: $329 a month, eight users
MAX is $329 a month, or $299 a month billed yearly, with eight users included and $35 a month for each user after that. It adds a sales proposal tool (the page notes a $40 a month value), recurring service plans, route optimization, open API access, a dedicated onboarding specialist and escalated phone support.
Recurring service plans are worth calling out. If you sell maintenance agreements, such as two tune-ups a year, MAX is the plan where Housecall Pro lists that feature.
Add-ons, and what the page does not price
Below the plans, the pricing page lists add-ons: CSR AI (an AI that answers calls and chats), the sales proposal tool, Pipeline, Payroll, Accounting, Business Coaching, Voice, Campaigns, vehicle GPS and dashcams, Tap to Pay and Websites. When we checked on October 8, 2026, the page did not show a price for these add-ons. The CSR AI feature page we opened also did not show a price.
The pricing FAQ says add-ons and extra users are optional, so you only pay for what you need. That is fair, and it also means the number on the plan card is not the whole bill if you want call answering, a website or marketing from Housecall Pro. Ask for the add-on prices in writing before you compare.
Card and bank payment fees
The pricing page says card processing fees start at 2.59% and that a 1% fee applies to bank payments. "Start at" means some cards or payment methods may cost more, so ask what rate applies to the way your customers pay: card on an invoice, tap at the door, or a keyed-in card.
Fees add up faster than the subscription. On $10,000 a month in card payments, each half a percent is $50 a month. Use the real rate you are quoted, not the lowest one, when you add up the year.
What a 1 to 3 person shop would actually pay
Here is the arithmetic from the public prices only. It leaves out add-ons, because they were not priced on the page, and card fees, because they depend on how much you collect.
| Your shop and likely plan | Paid monthly | Paid yearly |
|---|---|---|
| Just you: Basic | $948/yr | $708/yr |
| You plus 1 or 2: Essentials | $2,268/yr | $1,788/yr |
| You plus 1 or 2, with service plans: MAX | $3,948/yr | $3,588/yr |
Worked from housecallpro.com/pricing, checked October 8, 2026: Basic $79 × 12 or $59 × 12, Essentials $189 × 12 or $149 × 12, MAX $329 × 12 or $299 × 12.
For a solo owner, Basic is a low cost way to get scheduling, estimates, invoices and payments in one place. For two or three people, the jump to Essentials is mostly about the user count and the features that come with it. If you want call answering too, add the price of CSR AI or Voice once you have it from their team.
How Koira's plans compare
Koira prices by what Koira does for you, not by how many people use it. There is no per-person fee on any plan, and every plan is month to month.
| Koira plan | Price | What it adds |
|---|---|---|
| Office | Free | Website, estimates with signing and deposits, invoices, card payments, jobs and day plan, customer portal |
| Grow | $249/mo plus usage at cost | A Koira number with the receptionist and text-back, Turbo, your own domain, campaigns, referrals |
| Front Office | $499/mo, usage included | Commercial outreach, outbound calls, maintenance plans sold on your site, crew routes and hours |
Card payments on Koira go to your own Stripe account. Stripe's processing comes out of each payment (2.9% plus 30¢ for a US card), and Koira keeps 2% on Office, 1% on Grow and 0.5% on Front Office. Every payment in the app shows both. That means on the free Office plan the cost per card payment is higher than Housecall Pro's starting rate, and you pay no monthly fee. Which works out cheaper depends on how much you collect by card. Run your own numbers.

How to choose
Start with the jobs that eat your evenings. If the trouble is scheduling and billing, both tools cover it, and Housecall Pro's Basic plan is an honest, low monthly price. If the trouble is missed calls, slow replies and bids that go quiet, compare what the phone answering costs on each, in writing, including usage.
Then add up a full year, with card fees at your real volume, for the number of people you will have next spring, not just today. Our profit margin calculator helps you check what that cost does to the margin on an average job.
If you want to see what is costing you calls before you pick software, the free AI report checks your listing, reviews and site against shops near you in about a minute.
