What composite decking means
Composite decking is deck boards made from wood fiber and plastic, usually with a protective cap layer. It does not need staining and resists rot.
Also called Trex, capped composite.
Where it matters on a deck job
Composite costs more up front but sells on low upkeep. Follow the maker's joist spacing and gapping, which differ from wood and affect the warranty.
