Most happy customers would leave a review if someone asked. Most contractors never ask, because it feels like begging and because by the time they remember, the job was two weeks ago.
- Ask soon after the job is paid, while they are still happy.
- Make it one tap. A link that opens the review box does most of the work.
- Reply to every review, good or bad, in a sentence or two.
Ask at the right moment
The right moment is shortly after they pay. The work is fresh, the house looks great and they have their phone in their hand. An hour later is ideal: late enough to not feel pushy, early enough that they still care.
Keep the message short
"Thanks for choosing us, Ana. Would you leave us a quick review?" with a link is enough. Do not offer money for it and do not ask for five stars. Just ask.
Reply to what they write
A short thank-you under a good review shows the next reader you are paying attention. A calm, specific reply under a bad one does even more.
Koira's reviews engine sends the ask one hour after every paid invoice and drafts the reply for you to tap and send. Unhappy customers get a different message that comes to you first.
