What hydronic heating means
Hydronic heating moves heat with hot water pumped from a boiler through baseboard, radiators or tubing in the floor.
Also called hot water heat.
Where it matters on a HVAC job
Hydronic work crosses into plumbing: piping, pumps, expansion tanks and air removal. Quote it with someone who knows both, and check local licensing for who can touch the boiler and who can touch the piping.
What it costs
Jobs that involve hydronic heating are priced in the boiler replacement cost guide: about $6,000 typical, usually $3,650 to $9,250. The guide shows its sources and what moves the price.
