What duct board means
Duct board is rigid fiberglass board with a foil face, cut and folded into rectangular ducts and plenums.
Also called fiberglass duct board.
Where it matters on a HVAC job
It insulates and quiets the air, but the inside can't be cleaned as aggressively as metal, which matters for duct cleaners. Damaged duct board is usually replaced, not patched.
