What toilet installation costs
Toilet installation usually runs $240 to $670. A typical job lands near $410. Replacing one standard toilet: the new toilet, removing the old one and setting the new one on the existing drain.
| Price | |
|---|---|
| Low end | $240 |
| Typical | $410 |
| High end | $670 |
The range blends Fixr and HomeAdvisor (method below). Where you live matters: Koira's estimate is $358 in Arkansas and $497 in Hawaii.
What drives the price
- The toilet. A basic two-piece toilet is the cheap end. One-piece, comfort height, dual flush and smart toilets cost more. This Old House says most homeowners spend $375 to $500 on a standard model.
- Same spot or new. Swapping on the same drain is a short job. Fixr puts a first-time install, with new supply and drain lines, at $1,000 to $3,500.
- Flange and floor. A rotted flange or soft floor under an old toilet has to be fixed before the new one goes down.
- Wall-hung toilets. The tank sits inside the wall, so the wall is opened and a carrier frame is installed.
